RN Manager – Surgical Services (Full Time)


Under direction of the CNO, directs and supervises nursing and related activities of hospital operating room

Certification, Registration, or Licensure: Current Nevada R.N. license, current BLS certification. ACLS, PALS and NRP to be obtained within 3 months of employment.

Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.  B.S.N. preferred.

Minimum Experience: Five years experience as a staff nurse working in an O.R. 

Other:  Required to be flexible in scheduling.  Demonstrates organizational skills and leadership ability.  Demonstrates the ability to understand special surgical patient care situations.  Through knowledge of techniques and methods specific to surgical nursing, and principles and methods involved in in-service instruction for nursing and auxiliary personnel.

Surgery Scheduler (Part Time)

Supports the RNs, specifically to facilitate the paperwork involved with scheduling surgery, notifying and follow up on medical clearances required for surgery, maintaining the block book and surgery schedules. 

Minimum Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Minimum Experience: 6 months' experience as medical front desk personnel with coding expertise preferred.  A combination of training and experience comparable to 6 months' front desk experience acceptable.

Medical Assistant (FT - MVPG)

 

Under the general direction of the Clinic Manager and the physician, the medical assistant performs all tasks related to the efficient operation of the doctor’s office or clinic.  Basic care is provided in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction.  The MA performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgment at a level not requiring constant supervision.
 

Certification, Registration, or Licensure: BLS certification.
 

Minimum Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of medical assistance course.
 

Minimum Experience: One year medical office experience preferred.

Physician Assistant - Full Time

 

Under the general supervision of a Physician, a Physician Assistant (PA) provides health care services to patients.  Must be accountable to their supervising physician.  Examines and treats chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents and other injuries/illnesses.  Performs selected laboratory testing, refers to Physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise and protocols.  Works with the Medical Director as needed.  Must comply with policies regarding attendance and periodic evaluations in order to perform the job duties acceptably.

Certification, Registration or Licensure:
Current Physician Assistant license in good standing in Nevada. 

Minimum Education:
B.S. degree in accredited Physician Assistant program and required clinical training.

Minimum Experience:
Two years experience in emergency care, urgent care, or ICU preferred.
Experience with EKG, phlebotomy, and nursing duties preferred.

Other: Must have professional and pleasant working relationship with physicians, patients, and staff.  Clear oral and legible writing skills  required.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Proficient in the use of various diagnostic equipment and procedures.  Demonstrated competencies in dealing with all age groups.

Under direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), is responsible for interviewing patients and/or family members and reviewing existing medical information to assess social and economic needs of the patient and to arrange appropriate discharge plans.  Other duties may be assigned as needed. 
 

Certification, Registration, or Licensure: Licensed in Nevada as a Social Worker. 

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Social Work or closely related field.

Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience working in a hospital setting doing discharge planning is required.

Admitting Rep (Per Diem)



Under direction of the Admitting Supervisor, greets patient in Admitting, registers patient by collecting and entering appropriate data accurately and collecting appropriate payment from patient.  Pre-registers patients for surgeries and in patient stays.  Verifies all insurances and submits for authorization when needed.  Assists business office staff with patient accounts.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.  Successful completion of Medical Terminology course preferred.  

Minimum Experience: One year insurance background, medical terminology, and debit/credit adjustments preferred.

Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant (Full Time)

 

Under the direction of the lab manager, ensure that the daily activities of Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.  Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients, clients, and employees, perform with confidence  the clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.  May also be required to act as coach, mentor, instructor and resource person for new employees who have completed the required phlebotomy training program.  

Certification, Registration, or Licensure:  Phlebotomy certification preferred.  BLS required within six months of hire.
 

Preferred Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Completion of a course in phlebotomy.
Medical training helpful – medical assistant, paramedic. Medical terminology helpful.
 

Preferred Experience:  Phlebotomy -1 year inclusive of pediatric and geriatric venipuncture, capillary collections.  Excellent keyboard/data entry skills.  Customer service in a service environment.
