Laboratory
The Laboratory is responsible for conducting the many tests your physician will order. The information obtained from these tests is most valuable to your physician in prescribing the treatment you receive.
The Laboratory at Desert View Hospital is licensed by the state of Nevada and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). The Lab is inspected by both state and federal agencies. We offer a complete range of diagnostic testing, most of which is performed on site with state-of-the-art instruments.
Our Laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays) with highly trained Medical Technologists, Technicians and Phlebotomists. The Laboratory Department is under the direct supervision of a certified Pathologist.
The laboratory performs analysis on blood and other body fluids. Services performed at this lab include: general chemistry, general hematology, general coagulation, limited blood banking, urinalysis, microbiology, and general serology. In house lab results are generally available within 4 hours of draw.
Emergency Room Lab results are available within one hour.
No appointment necessary. Outpatient Laboratory hours are: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm Saturday & Sunday 8am to 12 noon. Physician orders can be faxed to 775-751-7830
